Coloring page of Saint Káteri Tekahkwí:tha (1656-1680), feast day July 14. Her clothes are those depicted in her 1690 posthumous portrait – white dress, leggings, and a blue blanket on her head to shield her eyes from the sun. You can also see pockmarks scarring her face from the smallpox she survived as a child, which killed her parents and brother.
(I highly recommend reading this book, full of cultural and historical background on the Mohawk people, much drawn from oral tradition: A Lily Among Thorns: The Mohawk Repatriation of Káteri Tekahkwí:tha by Darren Bonaparte.)
You will receive: “Kateri Tekakwitha” PDF coloring page. Formatted to print on standard letter paper (8.5×11″) or A4.
